Regular Activities

Far from being a static listing, Bellingham At Home programs change and grow along with members’ interests.

As a member, you can basically launch a new group, activity, or one-time event whenever you can generate enough interest to make it happen—and we’ll help you all along the way, from finding a venue  to recruiting to scheduling to promotion.

At this moment, as we emerge from the pandemic and groups think about reconstituting or changing back from Zoom to in-person meetings,  BAH program offerings include the following regularly scheduled activities.  All of them are open to members, volunteers, and nonmember guests.

Book Group

Members decide together what they want to read and talk about at their monthly meetings—fiction and non, old and new, serious and hilarious. Books they've read in the past include The Soul of an Octopus by Sy Montgomery, State of Terror by Hilary Clinton and Louise Penny, and His Only Wife by Peace Adzo Medie.

Speaking of Death

This discussion group focuses on myriad end-of-life issues, from advance directives…  to having those difficult conversations…  to death with dignity and VSED…  to new options for disposition of human remains. Participants share personal experiences of preparing for death and of assisting dear ones making their final transitions.

Coffee Hour

BAH’s virtual coffee hour has become a regular event. We send out the Zoom link to members and volunteers the Sunday before the 3rd Friday of the month. Join us with your favorite morning beverage and catch up with your BAH neighbors and friends.

Gifts of Age

If you appreciate intimate conversations exploring what’s unique and precious about the late stages of life, you will find a home in the  Gifts of Age circle. Together, participants  share the challenges in dealing with the inevitable limitations of age as well as its singular gifts.

Lunch Bunch

Lunch Bunch meets monthly at a different restaurant so they can experience  different settings and cuisines.  Some people come every time, some people occasionally, some people never; it’s a pleasure to be enjoyed when you feel like it.

Slo-Mo Pub Crawl

Taking advantage of Bellingham’s many breweries, members get together for happy hour once a month at a different brewery. Everyone is invited and you don’t need to drink to enjoy these convivial gatherings—there’s always soft drinks available and often food.
